FIFA President Gianni Infantino and FIFA Deputy Secretary General Zvonimir Boban invited the President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, to visit the FIFA World Football Museum in Zurich on Thursday, 8 June 2017.
Guided by the museum staff, they went on a 45-minute trip through football history focusing on objects related to the football history of Rwanda, the FIFA World Cup™ as well as the FIFA Women’s World Cup™ and how the game is able to connect and inspire people all around the globe.
Just three weeks ago, on International Museum Day, the museum organised a lecture on nation-building and the role of football in that process in Rwanda under President Kagame in the 1990s.
The President of Rwanda enjoyed the tour through the permanent exhibition – a mix of original artefacts, storytelling, films, multimedia experiences and interactive stations.
“It is a big occasion for me to visit this wonderful museum”, President Kagame wrote into the museum’s guestbook after his visit.
